Forums - Gaming Discussion - Who here is sick of In-Game collectables?

I for one am sick of collectables that link to trophies. In between Infamous and Prototype...that is more than enough collecting for a year. Infamous has 350 blast shards, and Prototype has 200 Landmark and 50 Hints. That's 600 things. Let's say the developer really wants to add it in...fine...but have the decency to give us an efficient method of finding them...not just run around and hope you get lucky. Infamous met this half way.. with the pinging...but it would have been better if you could ping the whole damn map...saves hours of running around like a clown. Prototype...god damn it. There's even a few that are just about impossible to reach (the one under the mutha f* bridge nearly drove me insane).

Also...one of the worst offenders....Prince of Persia. Anyone who can say they didn't hate collecting those damn light seeds (1000 + 1 Non-Missable) is lying. There is no fun in that..only pain and suffering. It actually feels like a chore.

developers do this and people complain , developers not do it and people complain.



Well, don't look for them then. The devs put those in the game to give people something else to do when they beat it.

It's fine if they have collectables...I just wish it wasn't linked to trophies where you have to find all of them. Why not 80% or 90%? Also...collectables that have no purpose in a game? Infamous blast shards upgrade your electricity capacity...but what about prototype? Those hints were useless...and landmarks...no point what so ever.



^^ I know...i got up to 950...before I said "Screw that"...that's one of the only trophies I need for Platinum on PoP.
