Forums - Nintendo Discussion - DO buy Grand Slam Tennis!

The game is great.. I now make EVERY shot and it feels so much better than any other tennis game I've played.. It kills Virtua Tennis in presentation (much better camera angles), AI, content, online and most importantly CONTROLS.

Wiped, you'll find that effort at the start will need to be toned down a little bit to make perfect shots later.. I don't play with the Nunchuk at all, also remember that the side of the Wii Remote is the face of the racquet and after every shot you should bring the controller back infront of your body with the buttons facing the roof and hold it steady to recalibrate. Also try to watch you character and experiment with how far back you have to swing to get a reaction either side. It'll help a lot :)

Success! Shortly after my ranting post I went back, after a calm down, for another crack at it.

I connected the nunchuk after so many said it helped them, and aside from a few bad judgement calls (running the wrong way etc, because I dont play or watch tennis so don't have much knowledge on it!) I got a lot better at reading the game, reacting and multi-tasking with the nunchuk stick and the wiimote- it does help a great deal once you get used to it. I won my first set, and at the same time, my first match in exhibition mode. I didn't make it easy - it went to a tie-breaker and the tie-breaker went to the last point, and I won the match 7-6. YEAH!

Since then I've won 3 games, including one against a 4-star player in career mode (still in easy, mind), so I'm very happy that I've fought through the grind and made it past the learning curve, It is very satisfying.

DO buy Grand Slam Tennis :D

Dammit, I wish I had nothing but money and time. I want to experience this 'click' that everybody else is enjoying.

One slight thing; I can't play this today as I wrecked my arm muscle playing it so much and trying so hard yesterday...which is a bit annoying. But that aside, great game.
