After researching through other websites and the people who posted in this thread.
I have figure out the puzzle. Details below



   Let's start at the beginiging. When people first heard of pikmin they didn't know what
to expect. Most people think of it as some weird dumb game. That's before they play it.
Now this is the reason why most people haven't tried it. Though as a launch title for
Gamecube many people bought it. Though some didn't like it due to the timelimit. Which
hurted the sales in pikmin 2. This lead to the desion for nintendo thinking that if  they make
more they'll start to lose money. THis lead to little pikmin games release  during the
Gamecube era. Though nintendo did announce a new pikmin game. It has a small
team and has been in delovpment since 2008. Meaning the team is small due to
other games. Be in mind that nintendo did say back in 2003 that they had the basic
idea for pikmin 3. This might be the case. But with the new play control games. Things is
looking up. The seris is now indroduced to those who haven't played the franchise.
This will help pikmin 3 sell better than pikmin 2.

The Future

  We have yet to see what might happen in the future.  As the seris contines to grow
with the new play control versions the fanbase will get bigger. The sales and the new play
control games will determine the fate of the pikmin seris.

The fanbase
The last thing I want to talk about is how the fanbase. We'll surfing the web. I have found that
about 90% of the people who played pkmin loved it.  About 50% became addicted to the
seris. I haven't seen any one who hated pikmin exepth this guy. But after diong research
I found out he hasn't played the game but hates the person who loves the game.

  There you go. That's how I think about the Franchise and the fanbase. So leave comments below

Pikmin was one of my favorite GCN games and definitely a great addition to the RTS library of home consoles.

Because its not that great.......

I did have fun with NPC but have no motivation to go back and play it more. I doubt I will be going getting NPC 2 or the new 3. It is fun but at the same time I dunno something about it....
I completely understand if people do like it though its just not my game.

I also think this game would have failed sales wise if it wasnt for Nintendo making it Im pretty sure most people agree. =P

you do know there are people who liked the game. You should try pikmin 2, it consider to
be a improvement of the first one

Man, I have been too busy to replay pikmin. didn't quite finish it first time through, only have like 3 days left or like 7 parts or something.

Thought I didnt' read anything about it when I started so got myself way deep into days before I figured out how it actually plays.

I need to play it through again a couple of times before pikmin 2 launches.

Yea I heard 2 was big improvment but I dunno I will probably get around to it eventually

i avoided the first one because of the short length and time limits. i really hate time limits.

i think they should of released NPC pikmin as both 1&2 in a single game for $30 and i would have bought it.

I hope it does well. It's just a series that never really caught anyone's attention. I think the challenge is that it's just a very different style of play for Nintendo as you're no longer the center of attention, performing the actions.

I'm curious to see what they've got in mind for the third iteration.
