LOL Ninja Gaiden is not the worst possible scenario. In fact Infamous will be lucky to reach NG2 sales I think .. |
Hmmm seems that Infamous reached circa 600k about 5weeks ninja G2 in the xbox with a larger installed base reached 600k in 7 weeks. looking at VG charts comparision tools infamous began pulling away in sales at week 3. . .

Nice bump. inFamous sits at 9.5m - and will see 1m soon enough. In your face inFamous haters!
I actually think 1 million is a disappointment. Seems like a big budget game and they must have spent spent a ton on advertising. People don't consider major releases like this have an advertising budget of like $10 - 20 million.
The advertising budget of Left 4 Dead was 10 million and I personally don't recall seeing anything about it. It has been boasted that Left 4 Dead 2 is spending double that on advertising.
I refuse to believe Sony is happy with the sales so far.
It seems Infamous has already reached Ninja Gaiden II's lifetime sales.
And I don't see why anybody would've thought NG was a good comparison. It's a rather well established franchise, between the first game and its two remakes. It would obviously garner a much higher percentage of its sales the first week than a new IP.

You aren't taking into consideration NG2 is a piss poor sequel.

Please cite and prove the advertising budget of infamous.
Please cite Sony or sucker punch being disappointed in the sales of InFamous. Please prove your ramblings. [edit esp in light of Infamous 2 being green lighted].
This thread had people questioning the game reaching 1 million, one person even comparing it unfavourably with a game it overhauled in sales vs. time after 3 weeks. Refusing to believe is your prerogative, but your belief does not change reality.

A Sony title? Maybe Uncharted 2, but that's about it.
The only two advertising budgets I can recall off the top of my head are Halo 3 at $30 million and Gears of War at $10 million. I don't believe InFamous touched either of those.
I believe Valve did mention a $20 million advertising budget for Left4Dead 2, and we're already beginning to see signs of that. The game is still over two weeks out from release (November 17th), and already GameStops and the like are covered with Left4Dead 2 posters.

I'm obviously assuming the advertising budget on trends. Why don't you prove me wrong?
Does Sony ever admit disappointment? Doesn't happen often that's for sure.
The title of this thread is congratulating the sales. There would be hundreds of threads if we congratulated every game to hit 1 million.

You made a unsupported statment, the burden of proof is on you. As you have stated it is mearly a assumption on your part; aka not reality.
Title of the thread can only be interpreted as congratulating at least 1 million sales, which it seems readily apparent as it is selling at a faster point than games such as crack down and ratchet and clank tools of destruction.
