Forums - Microsoft Discussion - NATAL is racist - Cannot pick up dark skin

Hey but wouldnt a this be just like Microsoft? Don't worry x360 owners you'll get free patches and 3 service packs with Natal before it comes good!!

"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

""Windows [n.] - A thirty-two bit extension and GUI shell to a sixteen bit patch to an eight bit operating system originally coded for a four bit microprocessor and sold by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.""

C'mon, let's not be too harsh with MS, it's not their fault if dark skinned people are too stealth!

Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly! (Pontius Pilate, "Life of Brian")
A fart without stink is like a sky without stars.
TGS, Third Grade Shooter: brand new genre invented by Kevin Butler exclusively for Natal WiiToo Kinect. PEW! PEW-PEW-PEW!

anything positive thread regarding xbox 360 at all lately? wow! c'mon folks take it easy!

For someone that has done something similar as Natal (camera detection), I can say that we did have problems with our friend with black skin. It's a problem that can be arranged by changing the light sensitivity of the camera or by changing the intensity of the light in the room. It's possible that the lighting in the video many posted was considerably different than where N'Gai was.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

selnor stop over reacting.

True or Not True no one is saying this is the DOOM of Natal. If true it is something that OBVIOUSLY will get fix before it comes out.

I rather this be BS, and microsoft investigate it as a double check. Hell even if they investigate the effects in different room conditions ie day night and with lights on etc...

What? This has nothing to do with Natal. The article originator is clearly making stuff up using racial colouring. We have hard proof evidence to the contrary which shows this info to be seriously fake and racist. It's sick that someone makes stuff up using racial hate. The fact that VGChartz is still entertaining this is not good at all. We are about facts on VGChartz. Posting false info is not what this site is about. But when it's racist to it adds much more downgrading that anyone is actually entertaining this, when video evidence of more than 1 black person playing with no problems exist. Dont be nieve, this is not about Natal, but about the sad person who wrote the original article.

YES absolutely the thread should be locked.

Very interesting, good to have an experienced POV on the matter. Did you have multiple people in the camera's range at once? Would the adjustment affect the way the pale skinned person is detected? Like if you had a white guy and black guy playing side by side at the same time, like how Natal shows a mother and daughter playing, would the adjustment to the lighting allow the system to properly track both players, despite skin tone differences?

Are you talking about a simple camera, or an IR-based camera? Microsoft is using the latter.

^ But that doesn't prove anything. Haven't you heard the rumours that those video's were misleading etc? Also, that is in a white room, whatever difference that might make.

It is likely a pile of BS, yes.....but I think all this shows that NATAL is along way from coming out

Stop trolling, it proves Natal registers black people. That's why this thread is bullshit and should be locked.

Ugh, Get a life. Nothings perfect, not even your own sweet Natal.

If you think that's trolling, then God help you. I'd like to see how boring this thread would of been without different opinions

People, this has been debunked already. At E3 black people used NATAL and it worked just fine. Then on Good Morning America, it didn't work for some white people. What we have here is a simple case of a buggy product. Ad that is quite fine since it is still in development.
