There is certainly evidence there that Sony has something in the works. What do you guys think about this?

First link sucks, doesn't work

Second link says "Internet Explorer cannot display page" doesn't work

And why should I believe a PS3 fanboy.com website? Also where on the page does it say it?

I think it's a good way to further increase sales and lose more money. I recall someone saying 40GB HDDs cost more than the 80GB HDD? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Someone said that the 40GB costs more. WAT!!! they lied to u.

First the 40GB I heard they were taking out Backwards-compatiable, and taking the memory stick reader on the front out.

I never knew the 40GB will be expensive. I thought the smaller it gets the cheaper the product.

I'm sure someone said it too, it doesn't make it correct however.

If it did come, it'd be a mistake. An extra 20 gigs on a hard drive costs next to nothing to produce. The only big difference is in the mind of consumers.

Sony would lose more money/(per)console depending on how much they lower the cost of the 40 G version, unless they took something else out.

jhlennon1 you copied those links from another forum right? I can tell by the "..." in the middle, you probably copied them by selecting the text. You can't do that because many forum systems trim down links visually in order to not fill up the screen with links.

If you're using IE or Firefox, the correct way is to do a right click on the link and do or "Copy shortcut" or "Copy link location" respectively depending on the browser.

Stuff that, I can't be bothered fixing links. Read this thread

80gb drives are made in higher volume, so they could very well be priced lower at the OEM level.

40gb would do well for sony, especially if its $399.99
