@Selnor

So that's 3 of us that took your bet? Not many have faith in it, it seems. But if you win, you pulled one over on a lot of people=P

So double the sales? Sounds good to me. Avatar control for a year? That's a long time..we'll have to have more conditions if you want to take the bet with more people..just because 3-4 of us will be fighting over what's on your avatar=P

yup

lol easiest bet EVER!

ok your serious. Well how about this, average 360 sales ww 120k so 250k average per week from now on? I mean your betting that the publicity alone can double the sales, even before games are announced?

Nope. I said when it releaes.

The response to Natal has been extremely positive. Since theres a lot of reasonable skepticism in relation to competing with the Wiis control schema I can take it that Natal performs really well and that as it exists now the product could work in the market physically at least. No idea on what it will cost though.

Tease.

People lose interest incredibally quickly. By the time the thing launches, all of these casual people who think its amazing will most likely say something along the lines of:

"Oh yeah, that camera thing by Microsoft. I wonder what John and Kate's Marital counselor is going to say tonight"

If NATAL was capable of the things that the demo video showed, then the "Vision" disclaimer would not have been pressent.

Periferals in general are not console sellers. MS SHOULD have held back with this and launched it with their next console. They should have learned from this generation that previous generations mean nothing for future sales. The could have bundled it with the console, then no one would care baout BC of games.

This was a big ball drop in my opinion, and MS really jumped the gun.

And you said August? Ok so we wait 2 months then.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Meanwhile, in reality even Sony's motion controller has a better chance of being a success.

I think if it really does release at the rumoured $200 then that will stop a lot of potential buyers

If this is released in August this year i will eat my hat.

OK, Here is the deal.

Basically take this years sales figures each week and base them over the same weeks for the first year of Natal being out. So if it's November 2009 then we compare from 2008 November against 2009 November.

Basically like this week it would need to have sold 240,000 WW if Natal was out. Simples.

I'm expecting after a month for it to be even more demand. But thats my inckling after seeing the press coverage.
