This seems to take more from Nintendo's own Zelda: Four Swords Adventures for Gamecube than it does LBP. At least that was what came to mind when I saw it shown. I'm pretty sure LBP gets credit for that style of four player co-operative platforming, with points as a competitive element at the same time. I could be wrong, though. Was Four Swords even a platformer? I thought it was like Link to the Past.

Seriously, this game basically takes the best part of one of last year's GOTYs, and makes it (probably) perfect in terms of gameplay. This could replace Mario Kart as my favorite multiplayer console game of all time.

Four Swords had the exact same mentality this game did, just with Zelda gameplay. It was about cooperative puzzle solving, fighting over rupees and heart containers, etc. It was definitely Zelda in gameplay, but the ideology behind both games are the same.

The original NSMB also had the origins of coop mario gameplay, and that game was released before LBP as well.

I own NSMB for the DS... you can play Co-op on that?

I haven't played it for a while, but isn't there a two player mode where you go through a level, fighting for coins? It's not exactly coop, but it was obviously what this Wii game originated from.

Nobody said it ripped off anything, we all said it had a LBP vibe, which is fun 4 player platformer co-op action with friends. So go cause shit elsewhere.
