Status update, I have 2 technical interviews coming up in a few days, and my PS3 should just about be in Sony's hands. The website says they do not update the status until someone at the repair center is assigned to work on the system. Which basically means even though UPS will say they package was delivered, Sony says they are still waiting to receive the system from the customer.

Wow... ok job loss, not so lucky, but check this out. My one year anniversary of my PS3 purchase date is June 10. I got an e-mail from Sony saying I will get my PS3 back on the 9th with a new 90 day warranty.

It's back... they kept all my data on the HDD. I realize it said to backup all the stuff you wanted to keep, but it would not power on. I was pretty far into MGS 4 too. All the way to Vamp, but who am I kidding. I was not going to pick MGS 4 up anymore.

You got lucky, most people get a refirbished PS3 and lose everything, like me. So count your blessings

I did lose everything. I believe this is a referb. I had to set it up on my network and download patches again from scratch.
I was just saying. How do I backup files when it will not power on, and they they kept my HDD so effectively they kept all my data.
