I purchased a memory stick duo from cex saturday just gone. And within the first 5 mins of using it it stoped working. It then went on to fall apart because of the low build quality.

 

I then went online and found out that my memory stick duo is a fake. So i went back to the cex in Wolverhampton to get it changed or a refund whatever. And the geeza was really helpful. he was like well bring it back in with your recipt and i will sort everything out for you.

 

So i went back the next day and that person wasnt in the shop so i had to deal with some other dude. He was very rude and said i was wrong about my memory stick being fake. I know i am right and he went on to say well if its fake i still aint doing anything about it anyway because it has physical damage. My friend had to drag me out the shop because i was ready to beat this man down.

So what i am asking is, is the anything i can do or am i FUCKED? they are advertising these fake memory duo's as being real. the reasoning behind mine being real is that the codes on the other 16gb memory stick duo's in the shop were the same. But those ones were fake aswell. i Even proved it to them buy making them go online and check the codes against real ones and showed them that it wasnt magicgate supported by using my psp.

 

Well yh thats about it. So am i screwed or can i demand a refund. i am planing on going back to the shop today and i aint leaving untill something is done. thanks

EDITED: Well i rang up sony and they more or less said screw you take it up with the shop. They have put the name and location of the shop into the database though So i went back to the shop. The geeza that was being a ass befor was no longer around yey yey yey. So i went in and i said i rang up sony and they told me to get writen conformation from you saying that the memory stick duo you sold me is real so i can take it to trading standards with me. (trading standards is like 2-3 mins from the shop) He was like but its physicaly damaged so you lose all warenty i was like it dont matter if its damaged because sony said to me the warenty dont apply when it comes to fraudulent items. Well it ends like this. they said sorry a million times gave me a full refund and checked the shop for more fake memory duo's. They found another fake 16GB. thanks for all the advice people and be very careful getting these memory stick pro duo's ok.

Why hey, i do believe what they are doing is against the law. If they don't give you a refund, they are really in the wrong.

Ask to speak to a store manager he should be able to help you out allittle bit. Good Luck.

If your 100% sure its fake you can probably report them and press charges to have their selling license removed.

So if they still refuse to help me i should ring sony, police, trading standards place?

I would probably call $ony first to get some recommendations to see what they say If they don't help you then the police I guess.

if you used a cc, a charge back would work, too.

Call Sony and tell them about this little shop selling fake Sony products. They'll have one hell of a lawsuit on their hands.

yh thats what i'm going to do. I will ring sony to see what they say for me to do. I hope they just so say something like well you have to sort it out with the store because i will just get mad, i dont even know what i will do.
