Wow. All this fuss about that small of an improvement? It took me switching back and forth for a minute to actually notice. I'm really underwhelmed.

The different was pretty obvious in the hair part. Were you looking at the images in full size? (most browsers crop it to the window size unless you zoom in)

I can't tell any difference other than the hair though...

I saw a difference in the eyes and the skin beneath the eyes.

True a part of the eye is a bit shinier, but that hardly counts as more detail, probably just a coincidence.

I looked at it really closely now and it's pretty obvious the non-scaled version is slightly sharper. It still doesn't mean it's running in native 1080p though, since they didn't disclose what upscaling method they used to make the scaled image.

Anyway the site says this is just for some cutscenes and during gameplay and short cutscenes it's always 720p.

This is only the CGI cutscene, BTW guys. Gameplay and in-engine cutscenes are still 720P.

Yep, fully expanded on a 1650x1080 monitor.  It took me a solid 10 seconds to notice anything at all, and a full minute to say, "Oh hey, the hair and the lines in the skin are a tad sharper."

Why not? This is the Final Fantasy ...

Lovely.

I saw the diff between 1080p and upscaled but it's not noticeable at first look and in motion, but take note this is just from the demo. And according to squeenix the demo only utilizes 50% of PS3's power, I'm guessing the finished product will be in 1080p the whole time. But this is just my speculations.

360 packaging of FF13 will most likely look like this

I actually noticed the difference in the weapon and the lips first. Not a huge difference, but noticable. Id imagine that it would be made more obvious in motion though, wouldnt it?

Nice.

Pre-rendered cut-scenes is the sign of lazy developers. I want my characters in the cut scene to be wearing the armor and weapons I give them. Not the same generic look in the pre-rendered movie.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
