Forums - Nintendo Discussion - New Wii Control Feature?

Voice chat without a headset could be cool hehe. The speaker is loud enough that your friend could chat over the speaker, and if the mic was sensitive enough, you could just talk in normal voice without speaking that close to the Wiimote...that'd be kinda nifty...but I suppose a headset would be more practical hehe.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

ahh maybe the button sequence causes it to look like your sticking the bird... just thought it was odd that suddenly a black box hides her hands.

We know the wiimote has a speaker, and most small speakers can be used as mics in the right configuration. So I wouldn't be suprised if the wiimote has a speaker/mic.

I admit, I know jack crap about mics and all that, but I thought headphones could be used as mics? I remember some buddies on teamspeak told me I could use my headphones I took from an old roommate as a mic and it worked, but i don't if it worked because they were nice headphones or if it were standard. -edit- And yeah, I thought they were just hiding a button sequence they didn't want to give away on first watch but after thinking about it for a second that does seem silly. Why would they vlack out that answer but then show you how to beat every other puzzle?

if it had to function as both speaker and mic voice chat would be difficult, because it couldn't do both at once, it'd be like walkie talkies [actually that would be amazing... walkie talkies that work all the way around the world as long as there is a Wii nearby]

As far as I know any speaker/headphone can be used as a mic, and vice versa with the proper configuration.  The only thing I am skeptical about is if it COULD be used as a mic, you would think that Mario Party would have used it...

I don't know, how many DS games use the Mic and how many of those are Nintendo games. I think Mariokart uses it but other than that I can't think of any Nintendo games that uses it.

She is not using a mic in any way. Look at her carefully and the game screen. The guy on the game screen is doing the action, it is a button configuration, not a mic action.

I am inclined to agree.  The model person in the game footage is holding it up to its mouth, but the wii remote in the game play footage looks like it is telling them to do something with the D-Pad and B buttons.

perhaps it is both...afterall, when you play a flute you have different fingerings.

Flute Hero FTW!
