Forums - Gaming Discussion - What is your opinion of Resident Evil 5?

@kylie - I guess that is your opinnion. I'm almost 100% sure that the parasite we see in RE5 is a new and improved version of Las Plagas though. I vividly remember reading that in a document. There is also mad hintage at Umbrella when you are fighting Krauser in RE4.

and the re-releases had Ada's story which was mad RE related, but I guess we can't realistically count that as a part of the main RE4 plot.

Fuck man RE4 was such a better game! Real puzzles, scary at times, the main character was cool instead of Vin Diesel/Arnold mix like someone said above. I loved the story too which you seem to hate like mad.

So mainly to answer the OT: Most people's main opinion of RE5 is that Chris took steroids lol

Ok explain how he's a Vin Diesel/Arnold mix?
Cuz he has muscles?
I mean if i had to live thru that hell i'd be workin out everyday too so i could defend myself
I never found RE4 scary at all
RE4 brought a whole different approach of "zombies"
It explained nothing about the past
The game was basically just a search and rescue tps game thats it
Now RE5 goes along with the story with multiple flashbacks(that RE4 didnt have)
RE4 had a completely different background and had NOTHING to do with RE at all

"She said I'm F**kin Awesome!"

"Gurl don't be afraid, I just wanna cut, U can call me a squirrel, I'm just tryna get my nuts"

"Here's some daily science... The World revolves around the sun, not you!"

RE5 sucks. You should buy a wii so you could play a good RE with great controls. Dual analog sucks.

We do see a new version of las plagas, can survive in the daylight plus a few other things.  That wasn't the plot of the game though, Wesker and Oroborus was the main threat, and Oroboros was created from the progenitor virus.

Not directly related but I was wondering if anyone knew what the crap Irving infected himself with was.  Also did anyone else expect more of a tie in with Degeneration, as that focused on Tricell but seems totally unrelated to the RE5.

I'm still playing through it and I'm liking it a lot. But I still perfer RE4 because RE5 has issues that RE4 didn't have.

Sheva is really frustrating. I'm used to old RE and I hate it when she shoots a guy I've just knocked down with a punch. I'm about the bring out the knife to finish him off and that bitch pumps him full of lead. SPARE THE AMMO WOMAN!

Also, having only 18 slots available for the inventory is such a pain. All the gimme this, gimme that is really tedious and I also can't understand why they removed the ability to use an herb immediately instead of forcing you to store it in your inventory.

On the positive side, the ammo is more scarce than in RE4 which makes things more stressful.

I found it to be a slightly above average game...still far better than the RE 1,2 and 3 though.

Because the flow of the game does not stop, you walk over a herb and press a button pick it with the games world still alive up or you don't.   There is no pausing for "Will you take this herb  Yes/No" so no opportunity to ask you if you want to use it instead.

No need to pause the game for that. The option could pop up while the game is still running. You'd just have to make "Place in inventory" the default option so you can quickly pick them up. It would be the equivalent of when you choose Equip, Use or Give when managing your inventory.
