VGChartz, IGN, and to a lesser degree Gamespy.

Gamespot used to be far and away my favourite, as at the time they didn'thand out 9s (or even 8s... or 7.5s) like candy. I remember seeing their score of Oddworld: Munch's Oddyssee (a 7.9) and thinking 'Wow! This game must be awesome!"

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

In fairness, those were the days when a 5 or 6 was actually average. You know, like in every other critical field.

I hate gaming journalism sometimes.

EDGE.

Most of the time I just use metacritic though.

I guess Play because they are the only mag that typically doesn't tow the party line on which games are great and which aren't.

Heavens to Murgatoids.

Exactly.  Six or seven years ago, gaming journalism wasn't the facepalm-inducing fanboy war that it is now.  We're now living in the "7.0 is terrible" age where scores are bought or bribed, not earned.

Damnit I say we bring back the good days! 9s on this website should be much harder to get then they are! :P
