Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Madworld is just.... average

I disagree and enjoyed the game for what it had to offer.

TAKE THAT!

Well then maybe you just don't like hack and slash games in general. I mean almost all hack and slash games are the same. It's a lot of repetitive attacks followed with a variety of different moves that are usually finishers. Name any other game that is even remotely like Madworld and you'll see what I mean.

It is not the best game in any respect but it is one of the most unique games I have played in a while and not just because of the visual style. The level of gore and blood, the kinds of finishing moves and attacks, and even the punk storyline was very refreshing to play. It may not be the best hack and slash ever made but it was a refreshing play through for the genre.

No, I'm actually a big fan of hack/slash games - which is maybe why I was expecting more, and can be a little picky.

Its not that the gameplay is repetitive - that holds true for virtually every game out there. Its that the levels don't do enough to change the formula, or add new elements to the game to "play differently". Its not an exploration game - nor does it have puzzles, significant strategies (etc). Maybe I haven't played enough of it, and maybe I haven't spent enough time on it to get really deep into the combo system.

The core game is fun, its definitely different - I guess I was just expecting more (or something slightly different). And the lack of technical polish disappoints me. It reeks of either a rushed, or 'lack-of-care' product.

The highlight is the integration of the Wii controls - they are excellent. But maybe if I was using them to finish off a demon, rather than use a chainsaw to rip some random guy into bits... it would have appealed more to me.

Overall, most of this balances out for me... into 'average'. And I definitely don't want to put anyone else off the game - everyone really should form their own opinion. Anything excessively gory is almost an instant turn-off for me these days, this could be the core reason...

I can agree with you on polish. glorifies violence, have you ever played any GTA game( since you call MadWorld the most violent I'm guessing no). A sequel sounds like a good idea but should wait like 2-3 years, also it shouldn't be in color. My Wii was a launch Wii and I only had one framerate drop(area 66 motorcycles).

you don't like it for 2 reasons:glorifies violence, and lacks polish.

What? GTA is nowhere near as violent as MadWorld is!

More realistic, yes... more violent, god no!

Dissapointment of the year so far.

...wanted to reply to Okey who I thought was pushing it a bit. If I had to call a game a disappointment of the year so far, I would go with RE5 (once again, imho).

Why are you allowed to have an opinion and I'm not?

What? You can have your opinion. Just let you know that I had a different one and that I thought you went overboard on your "disppointment of the year (so far)" statement. How could I not allow you to have an opinion? Though that would be a cool superpower...

Kim Bauer is hot!

That's nice and all, but what does she have to do with anything?

Unless I am mistaken, Okey's avatar is Elisha Cuthbert, actress portraying Jack Bauer's daughter in the first seasons of "24". It had nothing to do with the discussion but as I was replying to Okey;, just thought I would throw it out there...

Elaine: I will never understand people

Jerry: They're the worst.

Are you high? This game is so awesome! I think you can overlook these small things by looking at the bigger picture.

                                             WII is the FUTURE GAMING!

You are complaining that this game glorifies violence. Why did you rent his game if you don't like violent games then ? I mean you should have known this game is ultra violent. This is the concept of MadWorld in the first time after all.

I see a lot of red after I play this game O_o

@vess13

Aw come on! Look at the way people die in GTA and compare that to MadWorld.
