MotionPlus set for July release

A UK trade publication is reporting that Wii MotionPlus is due out in July at least in UK with a 'global' launch to follow a month later. The new hardware well debut alongside Wii Sports Resort.

Nintendo UK has confirmed to MCV that Wii Sports Resort – the sequel to the original Wii Sports game – will be hitting the UK in July.

The title will be released in Japan in June, and will follow in other global territories a month later.

It is believed that the new ‘more accurate’ Wii control hardware, Wii MotionPlus, will launch at the same time.

Wii Sports Resort, first revealed at E3 last year by Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata, features games including Jet Skis and beach frisbee.

It'll have a global release a month after June, not July.

So it's:
Japan release: June 2009
Everywhere else release: July 2009

And I think that's where most people were expecting it to hit, but it's nice to get confirmation.

Its about time this came out, It would be very good if they had some kind of online for that sword fighting and the wave race esque game.

I Want me some waverace.

Also, does anybody know what the other games are? i have only heard about 3 and there are supposed to be 8 arnt there? with sports resort that is.

your title is slightly misleading.

It is going to hit japan in june, and the rest 1 month later. hence why it is july in the UK. It won't be 1 more month before it hits the rest of the world.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I posted this, and everyone ignored it

 

But on purpose, it's slightly later than i predicted (June worldwide), but glad its not delayed to a late season release (though it does nominally fall into Q3 then).
