Halo 3 will be every US publication's GotY but the PS and Nintendo based magazines.

Bioshock, because of its reviews takes it no matter what any game does(halo never had scores that good). Unless UT3 is better(which I doubt), and as well as some more ps3 games or wii games, mario galaxy maybe.

I would say the difference isn't even worth considering. Especially since Bioshock may still fall a bit as more reviews come in. Bioshock currently has 66 reviews compared to Halo's 92.

That may be...but Halo is not Halo 3...so it's not a great argument.

He seemed to be indicating that Halo 3 wouldn't receive scores as high because the series never had. This is not the case.

Best: Depends on who you're asking. My candidate is Super Mario Galaxy.

- I can't remember a game that took the Amazon #1 sales spot 2 months before its release -> Halo 3 will sell, dunno, 2 millions first week?
- Mario or Halo won't get the stellar Gamerankings score that Bioshock got - both series are too popular. There will be Mario haters and Halo haters, while there's no such thing as a Bioshock hater (yet)

 after the video interview I just watched from the games convention, I creamed myself (not literally). The game has improved at least 90% since I saw it at E3. The new vehicles are fun and will add tons of new strategy and innovates the shooter genre. The graphics are just beautiful. Gears of War, Halo 3, hell Crisis has nothing on the PC version and the PS3 version is right there with it.

Actually to be honest I am a little played out on Bioshock, I think the praise was fine for the first week or two but its gotten to a point now where I think people have built it up to more than it is...and it is a lot of really good things so thats not easy to do.

I love the game, its one of the best this year so far, but honestly the replayability is lacking, one of the endings is just plain bad, and it has its fair share of bugs.  Its not the second coming of christ in the form of a video game like people seem to think it is.  Its just an excellent game, with a lot of high quality effort put into it. 

But anyways, I'm sure I have pissed some people off at this point so I will stop there

There's seem to be general consesus on these candidates (with maybe Crysis, and Assasins Creed thrown in for good measure).  But for all you people saying SMG, remember, it was Mario and Sonic at the Olympics and not SMG that was voted best of show in Germany for the Wii.  

Could Mario & Sonic dethrown SMG again for GOTY???  A darkhorse contender to be sure, but stranger things have happened (just don't ask me for examples cause I'm too lazy to find them).
