So recently I read Kaz Hiria, SCE President, was quoted on OPM in response to certain multiplatorm games looking better on x360 ""the power that we've packed into PS3 will really manifest itself in software titles that come up four, five or six years down the line."
Prior to this, to give context, he talks about the history of ps2 also being hard to develop for and whatnot, and he would worry if they said it was a breeze to develop for.
Heres my question though; what is then the point for me to buy a PS3, when the Sony president is saying its going to take 4-6 years before the games on PS3 will really start to outshine the other? What then is my motivation now to buy a 500-600 dollar system if "the good games" wont come out for another 4-6 years from now, when by then they will be probably be a few hundred bucks cheaper and/or no designs(bigger HDD, maybe more features of some sort, be my guest to speculate.)
This is not meant to be a flamewar of anytime, i dont want Fanboys from either side being like PS3 rocks or PS3 sucks. I want to know what people think based on these comments from SCE President, an also wondering if this sounds even counterintuitive(as in, they need people to buy consoles now so developers are more likely to make games and spend more resources on PS3, but who is going to buy a system if the company says you really wont get a unique experience until at least 4 years from now, even more.)
