PETA joins protest against World at War's attack dogs

Following a Massachusetts high school petition protesting the treatment of dogs in Call of Duty: World at War, the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is now joining the protest as well. Upon seeing news of the protest, PETA sent publisher Activision Blizzard an invitation to take one of its "Developing Empathy for Animals" seminars for free. The organization has also sent the company a package of Nintendogs for the DS, which it deems "dog-friendly." PETA hopes the puppy sim will help influence Activision's treatment of animals in future games, with the organization's blog noting "perhaps the next Call of Duty game will have you unlock achievements for petting the dogs you encounter and going on walks or playing Frisbee with them."

Is that before or after the Nazi attack dog bites the player's hand off?

---

The bold line is freakin hilarious (they can't be serious right?), while I still hope PETA would drop off a cliff and die, they do sometimes make statment that just crack me up.

killing a human is ok,,,but killing a dog is a no-no .

lol,,i m sorry but that's fukin retarded

Dogs have been used in warfare since roman times. If a dog runs at me in real life I'll run. If it's in-game I'll be sure to torch it down and hope it runs into enemies to make them catch fire aswell.

Peta... So distant from reality they don't require clothing

Nobody will stop me for calling my dogs when I reach my streak of 7 to kill everyone in the room!

lol, don't tell them about Rome: Total War.

Perhaps Activision should create a free gameplay mode where you and the other players are dogs and you're doing the same objectives, but as dogs.

I just remembered, theres also in Red Alert 3 where we can spam dogs and kill them.

Activision should definately put in a dog minigame totally as a joke, just for PETA. Where you throw frisbees instead of shoot your gun and your melee attack is petting the dog. Reload would be refill the dogs food dish when it gets empty, switch guns would be switch leashes/collars. If you go prone the dog will too and it will roll over.

Wow I took that too far.

Yea, you don't want to humor them when you should instead do the opposite to criticize them :P

...This actually sounds kind of fun, in a bizarre way.

The next COD: Modern Warfare game should have suicide attack dog strapped with dynamite on the terrorist side just to piss PETA off.
