I'm basing my info on the IGN release dates as they stand from yesturday, 9/3. Things can change; I know. My differentiation between genres may not suit your style perfectly; so fine. I will not be including Playstation 2 because it's last gen, so too bad. Do the work yourself if it's that critical.

Now that all of that is out of the way, here's the point. It's hard to say which system is always the best, because sales do not necessarily entail quality, and gems can pop up on even the most awful of consoles. I'm gonna go genre by genre and show the fall lineup. You guys then discuss who rules in that area. If the release dates get updated by new games added or pushed into next fall, we can reconvene and decide again what that means for each console. I have taken a few liberties by not adding any games specifically for children, such as Spongebob and Ben 10, and will not include any games that have to do with hunting because I figure no one wants to argue over that anyways. If I'm offending any hunting game fans, too bad. Spend your money more wisely in the future. So without further ado...

This one is a no brainer but still worth talking about. Nintendo shares a multiplatform lineup of platformers with 360, and half of them won't be appearing on the PS3. Then Wii has a few big exclusives like Mario and NiGHTS(which may get pushed back into next year), plus some average fare like Dewy's Adventure and Spyro. What's funny though is that Nintendo, while the obvious victor does not seem so dominant. PS3 may lack the soon to be averagely reviewed multiplatform platformers, but has the new Ratchet and Clank game. Insomniac delivered on a first time venture into FPS's with Resistance. Don't think they'll screw Ratchet and Clank up. 360 has a game that has no real mass appeal, but has quite a little cult following with Beautiful Katamari. Chalk it up to Wii for Mario Galaxy alone, but you can really win on any of the three platforms this fall.

Wii win. NiGHTS, Mario, Dewy ... *tear*

Dangit wheres my Jak & Daxter but no seriously all the line ups are looking awesome. I would like to see Nights get pushed back because its going to get swallowed whole by Mario. Katamari is going to be awesome. I have wondered why Crash hasn't gotten more hype because it is everyones favorite bandicoot whatever the hell that is. All in all its going to be a good rest of the year for platformers.

 Thanks. I've actually been on the site for a while. I just haven't felt like setting up an account and posting until now.

Again its and 'EXCLUSIVE' thing going on and the Wii obviously has the advantage. PS3 only has rachet and clank and for right now the only thing the 360 has is Katamari although I belive its also coming out for the Wii next year if I'm not mistaking. Or is the Geomerty Wars?

There is a Katamri Damacy game coming out for Wii next year, but I'm not sure if it's Beautiful Katamari, or a new entry. So basically just give it up to Wii for providing us with platformers galore.
