Forums - Gaming Discussion - Chrono Trigger's the hardest RPG in history

I found FF1 to be harder than Chrono Trigger. The game isn't hard. Maybe you get confused from time to time but their is a FAQ.

Chrono Trigger isn't hard at all, neither fighting nor progressing. An RPG like Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, now that's hard

Are you kidding? How much atention are you paying to the dialog? Chrono Trigger is user friendly all the way through (except maybe for the golem bothers fight, if you're not grinded enough). I hardly knew any english and breezed through the game no problem (except for one part).

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

thought it was pretty easy, i guess playing rpg's i run around all over the place. If i get to the open world i check like every corner and go to every place it lets me and check stuff out. So maybe that is why it wasn't hard and i didn't get lost.

its not very linear i guess if most are used to that. especially with shooters these days being so damn linear. and even some rpg's these days. TOS2, and fable 2 were super linear.

The game is so hard I didn't even get past the festival in the beginning because I couldn't find that bitch Luca or whatever the fuck her name was. And then the robot thing killed me when I fought it.

You really, really have to pay attention in this game.

Hardest RPG I've played this generation is Lost Odyessey, but this game is a lot harder.

It's just really tricky and easy to miss where to go next or what to do.

Ok, current gen rpgs might be easier, but Chrono Trigger is definitely easier AND more user-friendly than all 3 SNES Final fantasies, the breath of fire games, both Lufias... I think maybe you've been taking the wrong teleporter at the beginning, if you get my drift 8)

Holy shit Lufia 1 was hard. What a punishing, cruel game. If the OP tried it out, he would just give up if he thinks that CT is hard.

SaGa Frontier would kick your a** sooooo hard...Ah, the number of times I cleared some difficult dungeon, only to discover it wasn't meant for my character...

Anyhow, on topic, once you get about a tenth of the way through, you'll be able to talk to a certain old man who will always point you in the right direction. Until then, ears open dude!

Yeah, Lufia would definitely be at the top of my list, too!  I must have died 10 times on the first boss battle, which I think was at the end of a dungeon, pretty far from a save spot.  That's the only game I ever called a hint line for as a kid.  They just didn't tell you where to go next on that darn forest/tower part!  ARRGG!!
