Forums - Sony Discussion - Variety: Sony fanboys starting to resemble Rush Limbaugh

I thought the movie Idiocracy was pretty crappy and wasn't that funny at all. Mike Judge definitely should just stick to cartoons after watching that film.

IMO, the funniest part was the case study on the beginning of the movie.

The movie wasn't great, but overall the thought of how our society is shaped by large corporations grade inflation and marketing was a little creepy.  Unfortunately the characters were so idiotic in the movie it was pretty annoying, but I suppose that was the point (still think Mike could have toned down the stupidity and it would have been better).

The beginning case study was hilarious.  I can't remember the intelligent couples IQ it was around 130, but of course they never passed on their genes.

Didn't Michael Judge also do Office Space?

Anyhow, this being said, I am of the belief that Idiocracy has an interesting premise, but is executed VERY uneven.  Not a great work, but had a cool premise.  I ended up hunting it down and pick it up, due to the hype.  I still own it, and may use it as a reference occasionally, or break it out in Cult Classic movie night.

No, Hitler got his start because the German people had been squeezed to hard after WW1, but that is different thing all together.
I remember all the magazines i read were always taking a pop at the competition, except for the PC mags, who were all like "we are way above that shit!"

I was trying to use a little hyperbole to lighten the thread (with a reference to the computer in Tron thrown in), but this sort of crap really does get on my nerves.  To someone that is reaching 40 I am getting really sick of people half my age that seem to think they know everything.  The great thing is once they are my age they will have to deal with all the same things I do now.  Ah sweet retribution :).

I really can't take any of this too seriously, but I do think the critical thinking skills of the general populace have gone down a great deal and may degrade further.  I just hope we don't end up like the movie Idiocrasy.

Yea, he did do Office Space which I forgot.  So I guess what I said was too harsh considering Office Space is a classic.  Idiocracy seemed like a good plot except it just didn't work out in the end.

Come on, the movie is a cult classic!

This is yet another article that plays up to the ignorance of "hardcore gamers."

Captain obvious here. Sony fanboys are biased. They think every PS3 exclusive is the "best example of the genre EVA."

It's not exclusive to Sony fanboys, but they make up the vast majority of it. That is why I exist.

So when XBox fanboys do this or Nintendo fanboys do this why don't you rain in on their parade?

I have always wondered this. You always have this issue with "hyping games" yet you only bring it up when Sony fans do it and seem to ignore the rest.

Why is that?

That's not true. I complain about overhyping in every instance. In fact, I often order cease and desist orders when fans of other consoles start to overhype something. They usually listen to me. The problem is too vast in the Sony spectrum for one man to stop it all, so I do my best.

If you are trying to pretend that the problem isn't more severe amongst sony fans, then you are either lying to yourself, or you are ignorant of the situation. Are you asserting that?

The psychology is obvious. Sony fans have been looking for justification for their console in every exclusive released, due to the public stigma surround the PS3. It's the same reason Wii fans hype up mature games, or why 360 fans play up new chips.

It's the way Sony fanboys defend their console against the harshest argument(which is no longer true, btw). That the PS3 has no good exclusives.

One example is seriously believing and calling Killzone 2 the "best fps ever made." That is pretty fucking ignorant(imho), coming from anyone, opinion or not. Just having the balls to say that deserves credit, but one thing is for sure, no one who isn't a complete and utter sony fanboy would ever utter that phrase, wouldn't you agree?

Or am I wrong? If so, how?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

LOL...Rush "Blimp"baugh and Sony...a match made in heaven...lol!

Inconclusive, presumptuous, unscientific, opinionated.  To make such an assertion as fact is evidence of the same scenario the messenger is attempting to convey, thus, providing no cohesion to its argument.
