The summary sections for you if you can't be bothered Score 7.0 Presentation 9 Superficially at least, Heavenly Sword is an almost impeccable display of sheer, unrestrained talent. Graphics 9 Minor framerate and tearing issues aside, Heavenly Sword is an absolutel tour de force of visual splendour. Sound 8.5 Voice acting, effects work and soundtrack hit all the rights buttons with gusto, although occassional dodgy level mixing hurts. Gameplay 6.0 As solid as its component parts are, poor design decisions and awful structure mean they never make for a cohesive, satisfying whole. Lasting Appeal 6.0 Despite the wealth of combos and extras to unlock, you'll be constnatly battling with tedium on subsequent play-throughs.

Combine that with Warhawk: 6.5 and Lair: 5 and Sony indeed has a great line-up for the holidays XD...

Not totally unpredictable. I feel that Sony had to ruch some games out to have something at al for the holiday season.

Of course one or two reviews is usually a bit early to judge the game. But if this is the trend, it says a lot about the uncertainty of new franchises. No matter how it looks or what the hype is, it's always impossible to tell if that new franchise will actually live up to it's hype. Doesn't mean it can't (look at bioshock), but it is usually a good idea to wait until you can actually try the game itself.

So first they say the combat system is not that good, but then they say it is one of the major highlights of the game in the closing comments and don't say that the graphics, etc. are the best like they did earlier. I am confused.

hopefully sonner or later, 360 and ps3 fans will stop giving "omg best game ever" comments to games with pretty visuals and nothing else.

In the Official Playstation Magazine (Dutch version) they gave it a 89%, 19% of 20, graphics 19% of 20 sound, 51% of 60 gameplay, so total 89%
+ Graphics, its like a movie, gameplay, controls
- Can get a bit repetitive, way to short.

They also gave warhawk 84%

Expected, this was an overrated game since the beginning... like red steel for the Wii.

Countdown begins for the IGN is biased accusations...

I'm not going to say IGN is biased, but UK IGN gave resistance an 8.0 so I'll take their opinion with a grain of salt.
