Yeah, that number should start to dissappear slowly, I still doubt it will be done by the end of this gen. But it will definitely be a significant improvement over what it was. Just wondering how much will the R&D for the next gen will set them back.

Their is really no way of telling how much of the profits/losses were XBox related. The E&D division contains a lot of non-XBox products and groups.

I can see that a 10 year strategy could suit MS just as well as Sony (and Nintendo) this gen.

although the overall loss is still impressively large it doesn't really matter anymore, the losses are accounted for and in the past. MS is making money now and that's all the matter going into the future. gj MS on making profits on xbox, i still hate you. xD

nex gen wont be as bad if there is no rrod thats whats killing them.

It's not a loss, it's an investment. $6B is a small price to pay to break Sony's monopoly in the console segment.
