 It's not an expansion, it's a 4-6 hour long game with all the original halo3 maps plus some new ones. I also think the game will be $30...

Nope.  In fact there are no ties between them, besides getting some maps to put on your hard drive.

 

 actually they both have the same multiplayer. Halo 3 and ODST will have both users fighting on the same multiplayer servers.

i think it won't beat halo 3. it is just an expansion.

I say no but only because the bar is set so high. Halo 3 will be near 10 million when ODST launches. Halo 3 went up against almost. no competion back in Sept.2007. The only other big game was Gears of War and nothing else. Now there are dozens of great games. It will sell 6=8 million life time.

ODST will easily sell Gears numbers... and if Microsoft puts out a good campain it'll sell near Halo 3 numbers... I think that they are revamping the online for this...

No, it's not a full game. It's a budget, 5 hour game. It will sell very well, probably in the 5-6 million range, but will not touch Halo 3's sales.

ODST won't beat Halo 3. I can't see how an expansion could beat the original game.

I do not think so.  In order for that to happen, they would have to put all of Halo 3's maps on your hard drive, or include them on the ODST disc.  And I doubt they would give you those maps without a Halo 3 purchase.  You will most likely have to pop in the original disc to play.

Halo 3 will obviously sell more than Halo: ODST. Halo 3 has sold between 9 to 10 million copies and counting. Halo: ODST should sell 3 to 4 million ltd.
