Yes I too and really tired about the PS3 saviors, I really dont see how and FPS game on the lesser FPS console will turn the world around, I can see this argument better for GT5, or if FF13 had stayed exclusive, but an FPS game??? those are a dime a dozen, there are plenty of them around. I see PS3 owners getting it, but I see really no one buying a PS3 for the game.

I haven't seen a lot of people claiming that the Ps3 will see increased HW sales due to KZ2 (actually, just 1, but if I say that, you'll list 3 other people, thinking you've proved a point).

My impression is that they're saying "it's an incredibly good game. The Ps3 is getting the best line-up, and the overall library will make people buy the Ps3 at once it hits an affordable price". Now, I'm not going to argue if that's correct, but that's what they're saying, not that Killzone 2 is going to single-handedly "save" the Ps3. If you think that, you're either very ignorant, or haven't really read the posts.

As for your first point, that's not fair either.

Ps3 games get more reviews than Wii games.

There are about equally many Ps3 magazines as Wii magazines (that get counted).

Thus, Wii magazines have a larget inflict on the Wii games, than the Ps3 magazines on Ps3 games.

The reason the Wii games get a lower score, is that the reviewers find the Ps3 games to be better. They represent the more "hardcore" gamers, and they (probably) like KZ2 better than Mario Kart Wii.

We will get users who say this game will sell 10 million, some will say it will get 1 million and that is it. People will then start bashing each other when the game releases, may that be due to the game selling great or badly.

It's a lose lose situation, going to pretty fun being on gaming forums when this one releases.

I'm not saying anything about Killzone 2, but people played the beta for R2 too and hyped it as the most amazing thing ever.  There was thread after thread touting R2 was going to kill everything and change gaming based on the beta.

Now that the game has released, it has come and gone and proved to be good but nothing spectacular.

I'm not implying that Killzone 2 will be bad in any way at all, I'm just going to wait until the game is released to start getting excited about it.  If I can get my hands on a free demo I'll gladly play that and be happy, but not going to hype the game.

I actually remember the opposite, no one I knew liked the R2 beta and everyone loved the Killzone 2 one. I played both as I am an EU beta tester and has huge issues with R2 as did many other Beta testers. People on Gaf also did not like R2 as well as many other people, most such as myself have been singing the praises of Killzone 2 MP though. KZ2 is just a very good game, no doubt about that.

If quality = sales, Killzone 2 will tear apart R2 in sales.

Uncharted may have not "saved" the PS3 but it is an awesome game. Even if Killzone 2 doesn't "save" the PS3 it will still be a good game.

And since when is hyping a game a bad thing? Just because you aren't excited about a game doesn't mean other people aren't.

I agree. I'm about to puke when I see new Killzone threads.

It's like... I sometimes have to pinch myself to wake up, think for awhile and then realize:

(why, why oh why) All this hype for a game that looks and reminds me so much about Gears of War... but a PS3 Gears of War that is released two and a half years later than it's X360 counterpart???

Even if Killzone 2 becomes a huge sucess, beating Gears of War on Gamerankings (getting 93% or whatever Gears has) and sells 4 or 5 million copies (on par with Gears), it's really sad.

I'm looking forward to its release, maybe then (after a few heated weeks perhaps) there won't be as many threads about it.

I don't mind when games on other platforms are hyped, but Killzone 2 hype has been going on for too damn long...
