They aren't my favorite but I love Iron Maiden.

My favorite song is Hallowed be thy Name.

Another song I really love that doesn't seem to be that big is called Total Eclipse (on the same album: Number of the Beast).

I am positive that this song is inspired by a novel, in fact I seem to recall getting a trivia question right (at a bar, on the television thing) because I was familiar with the song.  I wanna say it's a Steinbeck novel but I am unsure.

Is anyone else familiar with this song and may be able to shed some insight on this matter, Wikipedia says nothing and there is no entry in lyrics.com  The album booklet doesn't mention anything either.  Thanks
