Gamecube controller, it's the only way to roll with this game. Even Sakurai, the developer, suggests to use the gamecube controller ;)

I use the Gamecube controller. I use the Wii Remote and Nuchuck for Mario Kart Wii, which is a much better game.

GC controller all the way. if you have played meelee then it is the only way to go.

GC controller.. trumps all else

I will be honest.

I am about thee only person I know that uses the Classic Controller. It is simply the best in my opinion. I remember selecting Pit for the first time around a friend and they had no idea the characters make sounds through the speaker on the Wii remote.

Anyway, I can see why everyone uses the Gamecube controller. It is a serious pain in thee ass to sync your Wii remote to system after system during tournaments. Just went to one last night and man...

But the payoff of playing from around a million feet away is well worth it. And it hides easy by putting the Wii remote in one pocket and the Classic Controller in another.

I feel, after using every control set up at, at least one major tournament, the Classic Controller offers the most confortability, and smooth experience. This has been an interesting thread to read. I wonder how many people actually try all the control schemes...

And obviously, I played Melee at tournament level. So to say, "if you played Melee..." just know how wrong you can be.

Wiimote + Nunchuk and occasionally the classic controller, these days the gamecube controller seems antiquated.

The Gamecube controller is quite frankly the best as far as actual gameplay goes, the rest do definitely hinder you. The Wiimote and Nunchuck is very comfortable and is the next best control scheme though.
