Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Are QoS and Nerf N-strike sellling well because of local multiplayer?

http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=21877&region=All--------> QoS 250,000

http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=25319&region=All---------> Nerf N-Strike 340,000

I knew Nerf N-Strike will be a instant million seller, anyway we played QoS local multiplayer, and its quite fun. I dunno about Nerf n-strike but do everyone here thinks local multiplayer is the driving force with these game's legs?

It's highly possible.

I know i'd take a mediocre shooter with local co-op or local splitscreen + online co-op over a great one that only allowed singular online play more often then not.

Yeah, thats why Red Steel sells. if HVS could do that with The Conduit its a instant million seller because at the same time the casuals will buy it...

NERF I think is selling because of the toy pack-in. Quantum may be selling because it is a move tie-in game (those often, but not always, do well), rather than because of local play. But I wouldn't mind being wrong, because the lack of bots and local MP is a disgrace.

Pretty sure they said they weren't implementing it... which is sad if true.

I know back in the day a lot of parents with more then one kid would decide their descisions on which game to buy their kids based on if it had multiplayer because there would be fights otherwise.

A big test with how much that matters will be if Monster Hunter 3 will sell.

I don't think well in the west... but with local co-op who knows.  I know the local co-op practically gurantees a sale by me.

you really dont need bots in QoS, for everyone that didnt play the Wii version its very different than the PS360 versions especially the multiplayer maps. And I think treyarch(not beenox Treyarch only outsourced this game to beenox) do well with multiplayer maps. You just need 3-5 seconds to find an enemy even in one on one.

Granted, but I still like having well-programmed bots. They can spice things up: you can set it up so you and your buddies fight against overwhelming numbers, for instance, or you can help the more inexperienced players by giving them better bots then you get, etc. We don't always use them, of course, but they can make many a game more fun. Hell, they extended Perfect Dark's lifetime for us by at least a year.

LOL killing bots as many as you can in de_dust and de_dust 2 in CS FTW! But yeah still, the lacks of bots aint THAT BAD... I think 3rd parties will reconsidering it in the future...

Oh yeah.

I played Perfect Dark with bots solo more then i did the main campaign.  I'd love to set myself against overwhelming numbers in that.

I don't get why bots aren't standard.  Even in online multiplayer games.
