Ok, Steroid, I'll start by letting you know that I would like as much as you for Blu Ray to do well.

1) It's already been revealed that these won't work on the PS3 (and so presumably not on any Blu Ray player came up) There was a thread created when this news was actually new, so that's how I know this.

Now that we know that these disks will require consumers to buy a new (and even more expensive) Blu Ray player, why would they bother? What can you do with 1 TB that you can't with 50gb. 2) The transition to some 50gb games is one of the reasons many devs are going out of business - if you try to fill the 50 gb, the game costs too much to make.

The only possible purpose of these would be blu ray drives in computers, but considering the current write speed 3) of Blu Rays, it is once again useless.

Sorry, I really am. Keep looking for good news for BluRay though :)

Post a link to back up your claims please.

1) It is your responsibility to search the site to make sure you aren't double posting, not mine. I can't remember what it was called, or when it was sorry, try 'Sony' disscusion

2) Personal Opinion

3) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray_Disc - The PS3 has a 2x reader (72 Mbits/sec ie 9 Mb/sec)

No, it's not my resposibility to back up the statements you make nor sift through the blogosphere to search for information to contradict myself- I have a life. The evidence still stands. 400, 500, 1000 GB Bluray disks are the wave of the future.

I like buying disks for my movies, hell I even have a massive vinyl collection, but I refuse to buy Blu-Ray until the movie prices come down by about 50%

 $9.99?

Wouldn't 1 TB be 1024 GB's?

possibly not.  im not sure about disks, but hard drives go by base 10, not base 2.  what that means is that a kilo byte is 1000 bytes not 1024, and a gig is 1000 kilos not 1024.

my pillars of gaming: kh, naughty dog, insomniac, ssb, gow, ff

i officially boycott boycotts.  crap.

This Blu-ray thing is so cute. Stuggling against the clock to make it worth losing the gaming marked over, before it becomes obsolete. I don't think it's going to make it in time, lol!
