Forums - Gaming Discussion - Final Fantasy in America

In my opinion, SquareSoft/Square Enix reached its popularity peak in America in the early 2000s. My question is, How big was the Final Fantasy series (and SquareSoft in general) in America at this time?

Also, I was wondering if anyone had first week sales information about the PlayStation Final Fantasies in America (specifically VIII, IX, X, and X-2) that could be used to at least partly gauge  their popularity.  I have been searching for this information for quite some time, and I will be most grateful if anyone has it.

Final Fantasy is still a huge franchise in America

I was wondering the same today but was too lazy to post ^^ thanx
hope we have the answer

FFXII debuted with 500k+ sales in America

Oh, of course it's still a huge franchise; there's no denying that.  I'm just interested in knowing how popular it was at the turn of the century, and I'm also curious about the first week sales since VG Chartz only has the LTD sales in America, but it doesn't have the first week sales.

VG Chartz has the week-by-week data for Final Fantasy XII, but it doesn't go as far back as VIII, IX, X, and X-2, and that's what I want to know.
