Has anyone else played this?  I'm surprised by how underwhelming I found it to be.  Perhaps the lack of context makes it less compelling, but the gameplay direction shown in the demo doesn't impress me.

RE 5 is 3 months from launch. I am patiently awaiting reviews before considering a rent or purchase of the game. Demos of most games are meh. IMO.

I've played it. I just don't get what you don't like about it gameplay wise. It's basically Resident Evil 4 to a T. Did you not like RE4 or something and were expecting something else out of this game?

No, I love RE4.  This felt much more... I don't know, lumbering, imprecise.  I haven't played as Sheva; is she faster?

Somewhat. I can host a co-op romp if you want to try her out. Just add me as a friend.

Overall though, everything you are saying are all present in RE4. Leon was also lumbering. His sprint wasn't exactly track star quality. Chris may be a bit slower, but he's also a bigger guy. I'm more anticipating not what they are doing with any already working gameplay design, but how well the co-op will come together. That is the real meat of this new game.

Well, even with the aim speed cranked up to "fastest," I still often felt that I was fighting the controls. Combined with the slow movement speed, this made things feel far less intuitive than I recall RE4 being. I haven't fired it up in some time, to be fair, but I don't recall a sense of struggle against the mechanics.

EDIT:  I'm definitely interested in doing some co-op sometime, but can't right at the moment.

I tried to play my demo today and it wouldn't work anymore. I have two copies and both gave me a message in Japanese. Is the demo shut down now?
