What I mean is the sales are so freaking high people dont even care about it.

I mean the Wii sells 800-850k on BF Week in NA and 1.3-1.4 million WW and all people want to talk about is the 360's around 800k. Basically is the Wii's success gotten... Stale? I mean the is the way the DS is, people just yawn at the 1.7 mil last week. Or the UK record this week. Is the Wii becoming much the same?

People see what they want to see. Some people go into those sales thread and all they'll comment on is small increases for things that aren't even the highlight. Every one has an agenda and it shows. Very few people on here actually comment on things as a whole. Probably, for one, they aren't capable. And secondly they want to talk about what interests them more. No matter how low the PS3 is tracking, there's still going to be those that will comment on that small YoY percent increase evne when the Wii and DS are breaking records. Nature of the beast I suppose.

Personally, the Wii and DS are still fascinating to me on just how much they can sell. Not to mention the software success that is coming from it. Allowing so many varieties of games from varieties of developers to do well that it just has to be the best thing for the industry since the invention of Mario. But I can also discuss about the PS3, 360, and PSP on the weekly sales.

Well, people talk about the more interesting news. It isn't news that the DS and Wii sell phenomenally, and it is news that 360's week-to-week figures are picking up substantially.

Uh, we're already there. And we've been there for quite some time. When it comes to hardware sales, discussion on this site focuses on two things:

360 vs. PS3
Wii vs. PS360

When was the last time you saw a discussion of Wii versus 360 sales? Or Wii versus PS3 sales? No one even brings them up, because they're never close. We actually did devote a lot of time to compare Wii against 360 sales in early 2007, when the numbers were closer. Now - not so much.

Those of us who enjoy the old paradigm of games talk about the systems still in that paradigm and consider the Wii all on its own. Until someone bridges the gap there will continue to be a difference from those who dislike the Wii and its controller and those who love the Wii and consider the HD console controllers as dinosaurs.

Wait, I thought the PS3 was the new DS :). Sorry that was another thread. Yes, I believe it is becoming the DS, but at a much slower rate than I would have thought. The DS gets hardcore and casual games while the PSP gets few exclusives. The Wii gets some hardcore and lots of casaul games but their are many 360/PS3 exclusives to the point I don't know if it will truly become a DS.

Seems to be more fun now to see how low the other consoles can go. People will point out how low PS3 total week sales are, how low xbox sales are in japan, how low psp sells can go, etc...

Not saying they get low sales but when you see xbox do over 10k in japan which is a small figure, people get excited or if PSP gets close to DS and if PS360 combined sales beats Wii. Wii and DS already set the benchmark, its just exciting to see if the other consoles can reach that. You just rout for those other huge corporations to reach little Nintendo, those corporations need our support!

yes i think it is, i just wish the big 3rd party studios would truly get behind it and show what they can really do on the wii.
