I liked Space Cowboys Online, because I get to fly around on futuristic fighters and participate in nation wars and raids onto enemy territory. And neither wars nor raids are events or anything like that, you just get enough of your clan members or friends or some random people and fly to enemy territory and kill some newbies. The biggest problem with that game is that grind associated with higher levels. The game has been out for 2 years and nobody has achieved max level and there are people that played the game since beta.

I hear GuildWars is popular and a very good game with a strong focus on PvP.  It's not free but fairly cheap.  If you buy a package, no monthly fee.

Also, there is a game called Mythos; not sure if this is MMO or MO.  A bunch of developers of Diablo II quit Blizzard and have been making this title.  In this sense, this is Diablo III.  It's in a beta stage now.

This is basically a free game, but you pay for items if you want.  But you can also get those items without paying if you complete quests etc.

I may be the only one, but I'll say Runescape. Once I got bored of the PS2, I started playing. I was hooked for around 3 years. It has a lot to offer, and I had some friends who played as well. While I did not give it up all together, my time is now split with that and the Wii, since it got me back into console gaming.

Yeah. Guild Wars is also good. I played the first one for a few months, but my friends never caught on. I'd say that, for your interests, Guild Wars is a very good. You pay $50 for the game, but no monthly fee. Its a very good value.

Runescape is ok if you actually pay the fee which is correct me if I'm wrong like less than 5 bucks but I would say you should check out Silkroad Online or Kal online which have huge korean bases and there acouple of others I just can't remember the names and I'll post them when I figure it out.
