I was expecting it to do this. I think its *easily* the best game on the DS, and light years ahead of almost everything else. Pokemon doesn't touch it.

I don't expect it to outsell Nintendogs though.

Grr.. while I do agree that New Super Mario Bros. is the better game, I don't think it's lightyears ahead of D/P.  I did think New Super Mario Bros. would have outsold it at some point but not because it's the better game but because it's more appealing to DS owners.

Good point. There are only so many six year old kids to whom Pokemon can be sold to. On the other hand New Super Mario Bros. also appeals to eight to ten year olds, because it isn't filled with so many knuffig animals.

I guess you say this thinking I'm six and are into knuffig animals.

Great job for NSMB, though I debate the point that NSMB is the best game on DS as I say MK DS is the best, and well I just can't decide from the many many games I love on the DS as #2 as of right now my #2 is Chrono Trigger but I'm also Biased as I'm playing that currently just as I was biased that FF4 was #2 on the system when I was playing it. Something about MK DS keeps me coming back.

NSMB was terrible. But so was Pokemon (though not as bad) so I'm not complaining.
