Forums - Microsoft Discussion - IGN Reviews Last Remnant; Ouch

As i've stated in prior TLR threads, i'm not totally surprised by the questionable quality of the game because you have to look at which SE Dev team made the game. (same with IU, but that was Tri-Ace) It's not like Kitase or Nomura made this game, this Dev squad was made up mostly of people from SaGa and The Bouncer. I've never played The Bouncer, but SaGa games have generally been decent, if not forgettable. (I did like SaGa Frontier a fair bit though)

Unlimited SaGa was THE worst game I've ever played in my entire life, not joking

Edit: And not exaggerating

Damn, the reviews of this game are coming in very low....I'll have to get it on discount thru gamefly in Jan timeframe.

Just got my Game Informer (which I hate) today. They gave it a 7 and a 6.

Ouch. Maybe I won't be picking up this game when it hits the PS3. I'll try out the demo at least.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

This game looks terrible :(

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

why the hell do most of you listen to reviewers???

as usual IGN is completlety unreliable. I stopped going there after they jumped the hype train like every other reviewer. Just like how disgusted i was with there AC review which was completely uncalled for.

Some of my favorite games are reviewed low and this is one of them.
Its sad when GT is my favorite reviewer. They have been most close to most things (tho like the halo score ehhh...)

umm...

TLR had the battle director from FF 12. It was no made up of complete bad developers. It had some very key developers.

Like i said love/hate game

looks like bad IGN reviews aren't limited to Wii games anymore, I wonder if these guys are so jaded that they even like games anymore?

Well, have you played the game yet?  I'm 5 hours in and I've been very unimpressed thus far.  Some of the technical issues are pretty darn awful and the game feels very unpolished.   IGN may be a little too harsh on their review, but some of their criticisms are totally legit IMO.

Well, they gave good reviews to ToV and Valkyria Chronicles.  So it doesn't appear that they are biased against JRPGs.
