Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Capcom comments on a new Resident Evil for the Wii

http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/5123719/should_i_hold_my_breath_for_an_RE4_style_RE_game_on_the_wii_during_its_lifetime

Here's the original question at the begining of the thread.

"should i hold my breath for an RE4 style RE game on the wii during its lifetime?"

Here's what Christian Svensson,
Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development , had to say:

"
Dead Rising is that as well. Uses the RE4 Wii engine and camera."

ROFL. So hooray for reused engines and old games. I can't wait now for Neopets using the RE4 Engine, that will surely get RE fans content.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Hopefully that's only because that's the only announced RE type game. I think with the continued success of RE4 and RE:UC (and HoTD 2&3) and the likely success of Dead Rising, Capcom will continue to show Wii some RE support but not likely RE6 or anything.

Maybe RE and RE0 redone with RE4 engine?

I have given up on 3rd parties ever treating Wii other than a place to dump only cheap games, ports from PS2 and party games. I would love to be proved wrong but I don't see things changing. Bought a 360 specifically cause I don't expect a proper new Resident Evil on the Wii even though playing with a controller would take away half the fun

@trestres

Why did you get a wii man? Like I didn't get a wii to play games like RE5. Those games need HD graphics, 5.1 sound, online friends lists...

Wii has good qualities and there are titles that work on the wii best (new sonic game for example) ...but being pissed at a company for not making games for a system which can't bring the best out of them isn't a way to go

Aren't we over this emo sh*t yet?
Really: get a 360 or stop moaning.

What Benga said....a 360 is now cheaper than a Wii and has the games you´re looking for, trestres.

Have you seen the footage they released so far?

I just dont understand you trestres, GC have BAD 3rd PARTY SUPPORT and not so good 1st party titles at that time Super Mario Sunshine anyone? Why you are complaining right now even there are more to complain about last generation? And lets not forget that the N64 have horrible launch with only 2 games Super Mario 64 and PilotWings at launch. I still dont get why you';re buying Nintendo consoles and its games even you just complain about its games. If you really dont want a Wii then dont buy games for it and buy a 360 a PC or a PS3 its just that simple...

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

Yeah, the crappy X360 with no harddrive is cheaper than a Wii.  If you actually want to get some use out of the X360, you'll need a harddrive which, seperatly, costs an obscene amount.

The thread title teased me and now I'm feeling let down.

I'll come up with something better eventually...
