Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Can Saint Row 2 be on Wii? Graphically.

Saints Row 2 controversy concerns, graphics keeping it off Wii

Everyone should read that.

From what I've been playing, I thought it was a PS2 game and not even a gamecube or xbox game. The graphic is crappy enough to be handle by any last-gen console.

And WTF is that SR 2 is "about pushing really good graphics", this is totally bullshit. It is almost the same as last one and not even close to most XBLA games, the dare not compare it with GTA4!

It has better graphics than PS2 or Wii,Just cause its not Crysis does not mean its not a good looking game in its own art style!

id have to say the wii couldnt do it, more draw distance, and number of npcs on screen at once, aka mostly why the deadrising remake will suck hard. also i dont know if the wii could handle that much detail

come play minecraft @  mcg.hansrotech.com

minecraft name: hansrotec

XBL name: Goddog

I am not even comparing it with Crysis but XBLA.

Saint's Row or 2 isn't a graphics powerhouse but it is better than anything the last generation could do and no I don't think the Wii could handle it as it is either. I love Nintendo but I have to be realistic here.

Look at Dead Rising, it didn't exactly push the limits of the 360 and while it might turn out to be a great and fun game on the Wii, it won't match the visuals of the 360 version. The same would be true of a Wii version of Saint's Row. It could be fun to play and could look decent as well but it won't look like it's HD versions.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

Dead Rising is done on a crappy old Engine, that's why it looks so bad, they don't even try to use Z&W's engine.

I wouldn't call that low-poly stretched graphics HD.

he's probably right about the graphics, but about the controversy thing... there's Godfather and Scarface, Manhunt in the end got released. and there's always the option to avoid "waggle" :P

I'm OK if SR2 is not being released (never thought about it anyway), I still wonder why Mercenaries 2 was released for the PS2 but EA simply ignored the Wii.

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

I think most people are forgetting that it's a freakin' huge game which takes advantage of the PS360's power in ways besides graphics. Even if the graphics look like they could have barely been managed on the Wii, there are so many other system resources devoted to things like AI.

Or having a billion things happening at once. Remember the Mario 128 demo? That was showing off how many separate models could be individually operating at one time. The Wii is incapable of operating as many models at once as the PS360.

Just appearance-wise, you're right - it looks about the level of The Conduit, so just imagery itself is indeed possible on the Wii. But appearance isn't the only part of graphics.
