Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Wii third party game explosion has begun!

The question is simple, as a Wii owner do you prefer Ninja Bread Man as an exclusive or Resident Evil 5 as a multiplatform game that also comes out on Wii?

That's entirely subjective and... totally not the point!?

Just cause the wii cant have download games because of its less then PS3 hardware capability, download able games should not count .

You serious ????? rofl.

So Brain age, wii sports and wii play and Endless Ocean are "games"

yet Calling all cars and Socom Confrontation are not ?

The list has Warhawk, yahh it has a Br version with headset SO will Socom Confrontation and its not on the list.

Either way

Socom 4
Battle Field Valkyrie
Disgaea 3
Megazone 23: Blue Garland
Nobi Nobi Boy
Railfan Taiwan
Dynasty Warriors 6

all come on a disk and are not on the list.

All of those were anounced within the last week, or are not comming to the US (notice lots of Wii exclusives that are not comming to the US or have not been anounced for the US are not on the Wii list either). It ONLY counts games being released in the United States and confirmed to be released there.

Ari_Gold:

Are you really complaining that most of those games are crap? I'm sure you, like me, owned a PS2 last generation. In fact, I'm willing to bet a good 50%-60% of this board did. Finding the gold amongst the crap on the PS2 was like finding a needle in a haystack. The Wii is the same way. However, from a sales standpoint (keep in mind this is a game sales website) the system with the most games sells the best. This is an explosion of games, as per Bod's initial point that was thrown off course by fanboy flame wars. The games explosion will have a HUGE effect on Wii sales. As the PS3 and 360 start to take back shelf to a massive wall full of Wii games, the Wii will begin to take over the same casual "I buy whatever has the games" market that the PS2 had last generation.

Bod's purpose in this post wasn't to boast the quality (and btw, I can pick out 8 games out of those 37 which I'm sure will be reviewed above an 8 without a doubt), but to show a 3rd party development trend that is going to lead (especially in the long term) to a widened Wii sales gap. You people attacked him and his post on an issue that had nothing to do with it. You have every right to dislike the Wii games that are coming, but that is no reason to attack and derail the poster and the topic based on your opinions when Bod was just trying to show a valid and interesting piece of information that is VERY relevant to game sales.

Ninjabread man also isn't an exclusive. It was originally released in 2005 for PS2 & PC.

and of course, every single PS3 and Xbox360 game is going to be perfect.

All consoles will get garbage. If you look at the numbers of "proven franchises" coming out, what do you see? Wii has the biggest number (As Bodhesvata pointed out).

I don't understand why everyone is fighting here. This list is talking about exclusive games. Clearly, the Wii has the most. It's as simple as that. If you don't like the metrics used, then make your own bloody list. Until you do that, shut up and just accept the fact that Wii has more exclusives than any other current gen console right now, and that they added a metric arseload during E3.

That's the facts. No need to put yourself into "defend the PS3" mode. We all know that the list of games that are on both the 360 and PS3 is large. THAT IS NOT THE POINT.

The question is simple, as a Wii owner do you prefer Ninja Bread Man as an exclusive or Resident Evil 5 as a multiplatform game that also comes out on Wii?

The question is beside the point.

I of course don't care whether a game I buy is multiplatform or exclusive (so long as it's not a poorly done port). However, you're just creating straw man arguments. The original point of this thread is simple: Wii is getting large amounts of third party exclusive action. OK? Savvy? Agree?

So give up with your tirade. If you prefer the games on the PS3 then by all means enjoy your PS3. No one is arguing that the Wii has more games than the 360/PS3. All that has been said is that publishers are really starting to put their might behind the Wii and release some new exclusive content.

hold up hold up.

Just one second here.

I've noticed something incredibly important on this exclusive arms race website:

Viva Pinata is also out on PC?

It was announced at E3. Not out yet.

You're right KruzeS, people seem to miss the point. The Wii is the Number 1 selling console without any of the "big games". It will be well on it's way to beating GCN, then Xbox, before most of the 3rd parties are even considered for Wii. And then it will be too late, those companies will end up losing money.

I think that the popularity of the Wii is so strong (especially in Japan) that the Wii doesn't need Resident Evil 5, Final Fantasy, or the likes to be a success. It is these franchises that need the Wii if the developers and publishes wish to keep them relavant (see: Sonic, Ninja Gaiden (2 remakes in 6 years do not make for innovation), Doom, etc.).

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

i posted in the first page, that i don't care about exclusives as long as the games turn out good. on my second post i said most, not all were trash, most specifically at majescos 10 games they listed.

i'm in no way a wii/sony/360 fanboy. if i hurt someone's feelings by posting my opinion, i'm sorry.

So while RE5 may not be EXCLUSIVE to either the PS3 or the 360, it is what we might call a "disexclusive" against the Wii.

OK, but then you have to compare those Wii disexclusives against PS3 disexclusives and 360 disexclusives, not Wii exclusives. Otherwise it's nothing but an unflatering "Wii against the world".

I think I might put what ckmlb said in my signature, that was pretty funny.  Ninjabread Man is definitely a system seller.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.
