Japans slow sales of the ps3 is due to hardware shortage, now that the 80GB model is coming in at the end of october AKA next week, sales should spike so there's Others and Japan sorted, now only Americas is left, How long until Xbox 360 sales die down??

With Fable2, Fallout 3, Gears 2 and CoD 5 coming in consecutive weeks, i doubt there will be a drop in US sales this year.

Well, actually, both increased their sales. PS3 just edged ahead a bit, but nothing to gloat about. It'll suffer another WW defeat to the xbox when US numbers are in though.

Uh, there is no shortage of PS3s in Japan. The PS3s are dying out but they will boost up when the new model comes out. Not to mention the Last Remnant is coming out next month for Japan on the 360. America will stay strong as it is 360's strongest and best market. Microsoft now has to work on getting "Others" to choose its console. Europeans have always loved the Playstation so it will be interesting.

there was a shortage of ps3s in USA before the 80 came out and the 80 came out in US long before it will in Japan, so obviously Sony are having difficulty producing consoles.

@OP: How is Japan 'sorted'? Unless I'm reading the numbers wrong, 360 beat PS3 there by more than it has for the last couple of weeks.

Every console is about to get a sales boost, we are heading into the holidays with big name games incoming. PS3 is still behind the 360 in sales though.

Also, heads up ... when you make a topic about 360 sales in a Sony forum, it's sort of a red flag to posters that this will be a Pro Sony post. Try to keep sales discussions in the Sales forum, for future reference.

To me it seems that MS really set themselves up nicely for the Holiday rush. The sales spike from the price cuts are now over right in time for all the casual holiday shoppers to pick up on them. Well played! The next few months will be interesting indeed.
