Wii sports came out in 2006 not 07, it cant be game of the year 07.
Wii Sports was largely the GOTY last year...it is not a contender for this year...

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
I think one of the dark horses such as Mass Effect or Bioshock will take GOTY awards. Halo 3 is more of the same ol', same ol', as is GTA IV. They may be great games but they won't differ enough from previous versions to win GOTY.
My third choice is SMG.
In order:
1. Mass Effect
2. Bioshock
3. SMG

Super Mario Galaxy
Bioshock
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Halo 3 may be good, but I don't think it will be game of the year. Metroid Prime 3 could have a shot, but I doubt it. Unreal Tournament 3 could also have a shot, as could Mass Effect. Brawl will be a great game, but I don't think it qualifies for game of the year.

Uncharted is another solid choice. That could definitely surprise enough people to take the GOTY award.Â

Mmmm i really dont know which will be the GOTY but the nominees i think will be:
Bioshock
Mass Effect
Assassins Creed
Super Mario Galaxy
CoD4
That last one could change.

Who gave Wii Sports game of the year? It won the most innovative award and stuff but not GOTY from the awards I heard about.
I think by logic, the lead candidate should be Mass Effect because if that game delivers on what it's promising it would be GOTY hands down. Also games like Halo, GTA and Mario should get less consideration cause they are sequels, need more new franchises to win awards.
