With the number of exclusive games coming to PS3 this fall and holidays there will be big exclusives across a lot of genres that will attract people to buy the console. The games sell the console first and foremost not the services that are there to satisfy customers that already bought the system.
Also, Killzone 2 is not done, Ratchet and Clank I think looks better than almost anything on 360 and Uncharted looks as good as almost anything on 360. Sony's first and second parties are churning out big games and now that the drought of games over the first half a year or so after launch is over I expect PS3 exclusives to keep coming that will convince people to buy the console.
These:
Heavenly Sword Unreal Tournament 3 Haze Ratchet and Clank Uncharted Eye of Judgment Gran Turismo HD Warhawk Lair Singstar Socom: Confrontation LittleBigPlanet Wipeout HD
Are the PS3 exclusives for the rest of the year and that's a good variety: 2 racers, 4 shooters, 3 action games, 1 platformer, 1 card battle game, 1 karaoke game, 1 platformer/level creator. |
@misterd, you do realize that Ckmlb has both a 360 AND a PS3 right? He was simply showing off some pretty good reasons to get excited. Is your argument simply that you do not think these games will be good? You know many different reviewers/gamers have had hands on with quite a few of these games, including Heavenly Sword, Lair, Warhawk(of course) and Gran Turismo, and they have really enjoyed them. It is VERY unlikely that any of these games will be less than a AAA title(maybe the Eye of Judgement) Most should be exceptional though. Of course they could all be crap since they don't have waggle, since it seems to be the general attitude here lately that if it's not on the Wii then it's just shit. I really don't understand this attitude. |
Honestly it doesn't much matter to me what consoles he has or does not have. The same list of games has been shown for a long time. It hasn't moved consoles yet. When they are released, when we see reviews, sales, feedback, then let me know. We've seen supposed AAA titles tank, sometimes failing to deliver quality, sometimes just not delivering sales. It may be getting Ckmlb excited, but as you say, he has a PS3. To truly gain momentum, the PS3 needs to move more consoles, and that means the games must excite the non-owners enough to plunk down $560 at a minimum. As I said earlier, we will know soon enough if they do.
Hell, four of my favorite games last gen (Eternal Darkness, Beyond Good and Evil, Psychonauts, and Jade Empire) got fantastic reviews, and all sank like stones upon release. I am not saying that will happen. I am not hoping it does - I may not be a Sony fan, but I would never wish an ill fate on a great game - but the potential is always there. AND it is there for all 3 systems.
As for waggling, I don't recall making that a part of my argument. Games can suck and rock, with and without waggle. The difference is your arms don't get as tired playing the sucky non-waggle games.
