After a month and a half of battling with my computer after a friend from school sent me a folder, Titled "AntiVirus" after it had downloaded my Computer crashed. I rebooted, then several programs popped up including "AntiVirus XP08" which is said to be a Fraud file or Malware. Anyway, the next day I asked him how to get rid of it, he didn't want to tell me the fuck... anyway, I'd got rid of about four of the virus' he had sent me AntiVirus XP was still annoying me, It had changed my background, Blocked the internet, Infected & Locked my files and Blocked me from uninstalling it using "STEALTH" is guess. Anyway, last week I installed a better Anti-Virus program called "AntiVir" it was successful and deleted PART of the program, allowing me to access the internet and update my SpyBot which deleted another Ten files on AntiVirus XP. I went to google to find help, Typed in what I needed, Clicked on a link and it comes up with hundreds of pop ups. I've tried everything I can but theres nothing, Has this happened to anyone?

Can someone help me please?

Oh and can someone tell me the Far Cry 2 release date???

Thanks, Appreciate it if you can.

lol doesn't sound like much of a friend, sends you a virus and then doesn't want to tell you how to get rid of it??

Anyway I've never had that problem, try downloading a very good antivirus program I got BitDefender and it's very good I've never had any problems with it and it's always blocking virus and spyware.

As for the far cry 2 the release dates are october 21 in NA and october 24 in europe

McAfee has a great resource on how to remove pretty much every virus.

I did a quick search and you might have this. I don't really know, but you can dig through there and should be able to figure this out.

ESET anti-virus. I used to have McAffe but once it cause problems connecting to the internet, and let me tell you, Mcaffe is so ugly to fix that I immidiately uninstalled all of its components and put in another anti-virus. It was like removing an actual virus everywhere, it had its ugly head in everything. Just.... bad software, but it does work. Been having no problems with ESET Security-Center. It catches viruses FAST, scans dowloads as they are being downloaded and cancels them if it detects a threat, and lets you know about it, and scans any file you run, more or less, without spending too many resources. Once I stuck a USB drive from my friend, and before I even opened it up it told me there was a virus on it.

Smart browsing/downloading is also good, With FF and no script I block anything unwanted running from the browser that may be unwanted or bad.

I can also give you the link to some very nasty viruses if you want to get your friend back.

I try to reformat around once a year if I can just to get rid of any bullshit on my computer. Luckily Vista has made it less of a problem.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.
