I´ve pretty p...d about the DRM thing and I´m roaming through the net after stories about spor and I stumbled with the ea forum. There was a thread talking about the gamplay and people remebered that the game looked pretty awesome. Now, apart from the Securom issue, there seems to be another whole set of complaints about the dumbed down gameplay. Take a look at the video and say this is the game you have?

I know is a 2 year video, but they were supposed to perfect it , not make it worse.

Well, Spore is the best game I ever played. The early stages are more of a training ground and tutorial for the player, a make-believe evolution and giving characteristics to the player's creature, and a motto to make it more consistent to the game's setting.

People who have been disappointed by Spore are usually the ones who thought the game's centralization was in 'wrong' parts. The game only trully begins in the Space Stage.

Well I´m asking this because I was willing to buy it if they revoked the DRM, or in a year or two when there´s no need of it anymore. But if it´s too simple, I won´t like it. Take a like at the games I like : CIV, the Sims, Simcity, Empire Earth, Europa Universalis, mostly hardcore strategy games. So when you answer, take a look at the video and the other videos there, with the demos too, compare and say yeah is the same, no it´s worse now, or even wow, they did better. If you like it, good, but there´s tastes and tastes.Yours and mine. Put the facts, so everybody can see and then give their opinion, I can´t give mine, cause I didn´t played it.

i really like the game.. i reached the third stage.. but people keep saying that its a revolution ? and thats it 10 years under development ? nah i dont believe that.. unless it went through duke nukem went through..

They are saving all of that content for an expansion. But seriously, even the editor looks a lot more in-depth. You have more than 1 main bone and a ribcage too. Wonder what happened. You have the post from the ea forums about it?

How can the gameplay be dumbed down if its the first game in the series?

The gameplay is exactly what Wright wanted it to be like. I think he knows what he's doing considering the games he's created. It is afterall at number one in a number of countries atm.

@ FaRmLaNd, take a look at the video, even a small piece of it. They had a awesome idea, made a great presentation, and aparentelly they took everything that made the game awesome. This is not what will had in mind. This is what they thought would reach a broader demographic, thyt´s all. They made the easy mistake to confuse Casual with dumb. Casuals are not stupid people. They just are not so passionate about a game, but they are still intelligent and like clever games.
