Forums - Sony Discussion - On The Fence With Disgaea 3. Convince Me Either Way.

This game has few hundred hours of gameplay, if not 1000+. I am dead serious.
After you beat the main story, there's so much to do after that. It's definetly worth it's price.

Around the Network

Hmm, haven't read through the comments, but I suggest you play the games in order. Particularly since Disgaea 1 is one of the best srpgs ever made, and 2 was significantly worse, and though 3 could be better than 2, it probably won't reach 1.

Now, another reason you should play them in order, is they each have references and cameos by past characters.

The final reason is the graphics on all 3 games are nearly identical. The PS3 disgaea looks about the same as the PS2 version, which looks about as good as most games on the PS1. The games aren't about graphics.

So, since Disgaea 1 is soon to be a greatest hit, and will be found for 19 dollars, I suggest you try it out first, if you can wait, or just wait for The Last Remnant. Especially if you've never played a SRPG. They aren't for everyone. Be careful.

...and that's Zenfoldor's word. Proceed at your own peril.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Rose-colored glasses.  Disgaea 2 is great.  ^_^

If you want a niche tactics game where you have to buy (online) most of the features and upgrades in the game, then go for it.

Also the game lacks the primary reason everyone loved Disgaea games, Etna. (I know that's not true, but you can't call it Disgaea without Etna)

The only information I have found on DLC for Disgaea 3 is one free update that allows 10 new characters already in the game to be gotten, and a second one that costed a dollar and got you two characters from Disgaea 2.  What pray tell are you talking about?

And Etna's in there as a cameo, but if you wanted her to be in the entire game then yes I suppose you would be dissapointed.
