Sony only knows shipped numbers for the PS3.  They have no way of knowing exactly how many PS3s were sold to consumers.

Yeah, when it comes to shipped numbers, they know it down to the unit.  What I am saying is, they have no way of knowing exactly how many are sold to the consumer.  Retailers don't relay all this information back to them, that is why the NPD and this site exist.  If Sony could release sold through numbers, there would be no need for either.

So basically, it's inconclusive.

118 is well within the 120k margin of error +/- 10 percent. So leo-j wasn't right or wrong.

who the flip cares? we all know why it's down there, we all know where it's going to be again. it took nearly 7 months for the ps3 to fall under 120k. who here can honestly say that they expected it to stay over 120k even a few weeks after '08 began?

OMG you do know that vgchartz doesnt not track the entire world right... They most likly sold over 120k this week we just don't see it!
