Call me crazy, call me a fanboy, call me whatever but I think PS3 has a decent chance of breaking 20 million by next year. If current sales are sustained (~150,000 units/week) along with some boosts along the way from bames like littlebigplanet and resistance 2, going into Christmas it would have to sell a little over 2 million to hit the goal. This is purely guesstimation of sales, though. I think this feat is possible, especially with the introduction of the "new" 80GB sku and a few great games.

It'll easily best 20 mil by the end of the year. It sold 5 million in the first six months of the year (The slow months).

Seven or eight million is not out of the question by a long shot.

Think it will reach 20 mill by end of this year.

 last Dec. 2.7 mil.

That means 3 mil. in 20 weeks. Average of 150k per week. Which already this year it's average is 190k.

Last Nov 1 mil alone.

So 3.7 mil units in the last 2 months last year.

That means it needs to be about 16.3 at the end of Oct.

Which means 2 mil. Which means average of 125k per week.

I think it has a good shot.

probably, if not it will be just under.

So far the average weekly sales for this year has been around 195k. Which mean 20 million for PS3 at the end of the year  is in worst case scenerario.

I think 20 mil by Jan '09 is a pretty solid prediction

Wow! I didnt know it sold that much at the end of last year. Im anticipating seeing the boosts that some of the games showcased at E3 will give it (if any). Unless it slows down for some unknown reason, then the situation looks bright :D
