Forums - Microsoft Discussion - FFXIII for X360 how many discs will it need?

if your signature says you hate it, why ask questions? just curious, but i think there will be 2 or 3 disks

Hmm if the game is 50 gigs, and the superior DVD holds 9 gigs then there will be about 6 sweet cutting edge dvds! But who knows they could cut corners and have the 360's soundtrack be Mp3's. Who cares about audio? Not any real gamer I know..... If the audio sounds too real it could scare your cat and then he might poop on the carpet and that might stain.

I am asking a simple question because a lot of people are interested in FF XIII. FF XIII is one of  the most anticipated games of this generation. Only GT 5, KZ2, GTA 4, Halo 3 were on the same level.

Before I say this I just want to note, the "takes up a full BD 50GB" fact may be with completely uncompressed audio which actually tends to take up the most space. Also most home entertainment systems aren't good enough to really pick up the difference between good compression and uncompressed so it's mostly a worthless thing.

My bet is with compressed audio given the length of the game would cut it to 40GB if not less. I'll go with 3-5 Discs no more no less.

It depends on which type of Xbox 360 hard drive you have. If it you have a 20Gb hard drive, than I predict two discs. If it is a 60gb 360, I think it will be on only one disc.

I was just looking up the square-enix press conference and to the multi-dics question, they answered that the game may or may not need multi-discs.

If that's what Square is saying, then and educated guess is that the game will be 1 to 2 discs

27!

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Compression, compression, compression, did anyone besides me even play Lost Odyssey?

First of all it took 4 disks, even with all that compression. How anyone think FFXIII will be the same size or possibly smaller is beyond me.

Second of all, the loading was atrocious. Isn't that the more you compress the higher the chance of longer load times?

I also hear about people installing it onto the 360 HDD. Do you know how long 4+ DVDs will take to install? Not to mention take up your entire HDD?

I would want minimal load time, so keep the compression to a minimum, second I wouldn't want it gimped, or else I would just grab the obviously superior copy.

My guess if they want both to be on par. 6+ discs easy.

Other than compression, does anyone know why LO's load times were so bad? I personally just didn't understand the 10-15 second load time just to go inside the Nautilus.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

OVER 9000!!!111!!!1

Maybe 4-5, LO was 4 and Blue Dragon was 3, that should give some idea to what this game will need.

This is a constant method of lambasting the 360, and giving your posting history, this is unacceptable.
