"I've played a Nintendo Wii,'' Stringer said last week at the Allen & Co. media conference in Sun Valley, Idaho. "I don't see it as a competitor. It's more of an expensive niche game device. We're selling a lot of PlayStation 3s now and it's still the best way to buy a Blu-ray player.''

Expensive niche device? What is the PS3 then? A Blu-Ray player. Obviously this dude doesn't consider it a gaming system. Sony houldn't let this guy run his mouth off like that and say such stupid things. If it isn't a competitor, why does it have 46% (48%?) marketshare? It is leading this generation and has impacted sales of the PS3 just like the 360 has.
No matter how many PS3s are selling, they don't sell as much as that "expensive niche game device". How many niche game devices you know are projected to sell at LEAST 70 million units lifetime? Not any I know. He's probably one of the people that was convinced into buying Pet Rock back in the day.......
O yea, PS3 costs more than the Wii by the way. At one point, more than twice as much. I never intended to bash the PS3 here, but rereading his "dee da dee" comments get me mad. Idiot.
