You guys are taking it way too seriously. I'm sure he is joking.

Thats what they all say, I remember when David jaffe attacked miyamoto about his comments concerning twisted metal and the way he was attacked, when HE WAS SERIOUSLY JOKING.

Miyamoto is too cocky thats all.

But ATTACKING RATCHET AND CLANK, is wayyy too much.

Example of miyamoto being too cocky other than this which is obviously him joking?

Shall we bring some sony rep interviews into this?

Just because Sony or Microsoft representatives are cocky doesn't stop Miyamoto from being the same. Especially to a developer who has been so supportive of the Wii and DS. I could understand if the comment was related to Jaffe, as Jaffe clearly made the first comment and has never made a game on a Nintendo platform (at least to my knowledge).

Well even if he was being cocky and arrogant, which I doubt, there have been cases of sony and msft reps being far more arrogant and cocky and nobody complained.

Even if it wasn't his intention, the comments come off as cocky and arrogant. And plenty of people complained when MS and Sony PR made arrogant comments. A whole lot of people. That's clearly an example of you twisting the truth.

A: ''he is arrogant'' ; B: ''but he is arrogant too!''.... what now it doesn't matter because more people are arrogant?

''Hadouken!''

I think that after this...

... Miyamoto has the right to pull that one on Sega.

Well I guess thats how everybody perceives it. Also when I talk about " nobody" I mean the people who favor that compainies console.

LOL!

Well, you just have to forgive, I suppose. Sega was desperate.

SC: Well then, that's the case here as well.

An eye for an eye I suppose.

I still find Sega games fun. Maybe they aren't as good now, but they're still fun.

Also, shut up leo-j. You're not mad at his attitude, but the fact he didn't know about Ratchet and Clank.

Which sounds worse too you.

This "Oh, this looks like a Sega game. We need to make it look more like Mario." , or this " Wii owners will upgrade to a 360" or this " Dualshock is last gen"? In the first one you see somebody joking , in the second one he is most likely serious and believe the 360 is so much of a better console than the wii that it is an upgrad, and in the third one he is having arrogance that he could inconviiencence sony fans because he know it will sell anyway just because the ps2 and ps1 sold. Do you really think sega cares that miyamoto said this. They like me probably know that it is a joke. And for the ratchet case, how do you expect somebody in japan to know alot about a western franchise? Even if they are miyamoto I'm pretty sure he doesn't have his life consumed by video games, like me and many others in this forum , and know every single video game on the market. Everybody is arrogant at some point in their life, and even if this wasn't a joke I wouldn't take it as a big deal compared to other examples of arrogance.

I think people are misinterpreting it.

He means only in style. They want to make Nintendo games, their own unique games, not copy from other companies like Sega.

We don't want our game to look like a Sega game, we want it to look like a Nintendo game, how is that offensive? he says nothing about Sega producing bad games, just different games.
